Hands-on leadership for a program, a launch, or a team between full-time hires. I give leaders and teams the context to decide and act, and build the team that keeps running the work.
Process improvement
Lean Six Sigma applied where the work breaks. Kaizen events, value stream mapping, and coaching help teams see the context behind their own processes, so the capability stays in-house.
AI process automation
AI is only as good as the context it’s given. I identify how the process really runs first, then build the agent around it.
Selected Engagements
Small business finance process automation
Improved a client’s finance process through process engineering and AI agent implementation.
Result: The agent cut 4 to 8 hours of daily manual work to under 15 minutes.
Steadii
A new business built and launched for a client. I served as program manager, leading the consulting team that developed and ran the business and the product team that built its technology platform. The engagement converted to a full-time role with Empactful Partners in December 2023.
- Built and launched a business that supported more than 200 family caregivers as they cared for their loved ones.
- Replatformed the initial Steadii technology, moving to an AI-first development model.
Triage Staffing
Prepared the team and program delivery practice for a multi-year replacement of core business applications, then led the replacement as Director, implementing Agile delivery and applying Lean to redesign workflows around the new technology.
- Stood up an internal support organization and delivery practice.
- Integrated an acquired company into Triage’s technical environment and processes mid-program without delaying the platform replacement’s delivery date.
The Name
Vecht Consulting is named for the Vecht River, which runs north from Utrecht in the Netherlands. The ride along the Vecht was my favorite cycling route during the year we lived there.
The Vecht doesn’t run straight. It bends past villages and old estates and still gets where it’s going. That’s how I approach change: understand the terrain first, then guide people through it, wherever they’re working.
